GETTING THE FACING DIRECTION OF A HOME (Part V)

Feng Shui Facing Direction of Home

Finding Your House’s Nine Energy Sectors. Where Is What?
(Continued)

The illustration above shows an example of a house’s layout with “missing” sectors according to Feng Shui. So what are the implications of a home with missing or even weakened areas? As you may have already learned so far, there are nine energy sectors (or Palaces) within a home. Each sector is occupied by one specific element of the Five Elements in Feng Shui. Each element represents different aspects in the life of a home’s occupant or occupants. If a sector in the home is missing, it means that the qualities associated with that sector will most likely be missing in the life of its occupants. The same applies if a particular area of a home is weakened. The qualities associated with that area will also be weakened in the life of its occupants. I could get into a lot more on how serious the implications can be Feng Shui wise concerning missing sectors in a home but this will have to be covered at a later time in a different book. This is not as simple of a subject as it may appear to be at least to the majority of people, especially those who were never able to understand this science correctly or at a deeper level.
Notice the image of the floorplan below. To be able to apply the Nine Palaces grid over the house’s layout so that all nine sectors are present, the grid had to be “stretched”. Although energy (or Qi) is flexible as it can expand or contract in most cases, this is definitely not an advisable approach but let’s attempt it.
Before I get to that, I want to make it clear that we must be mindful if a sector or more of a home is missing, we have to accept the fact and seek for possible ways if there are any, to correct the problem. So this leads us to keep as a reminder that the best approach to not having to deal with a problem later is to not allow it in, to begin with. Therefore, getting the proper education and research on a subject before making a decision, helps one to avoid any future disappointments. This thought applies to just about anything in life. However, problems and disappointments can happen and none of us is immune to them since nobody is perfect or blessed with a perfect or even a near to perfect life. So, problems must never be looked at as the end of the world. Most matters are solvable one way or the other, so all is good!
As an example of the best way to lay the grid over this floorplan, I took the overall length (or width) of the layout and divided it by three (in this case, 11” divided by 3 = 3.66”). So for both top and bottom I marked with a dot three equal parts of about 3.6” each.  The same method was applied with the depth (or height) of the layout. Finally, the dots were connected to build the grid.

Getting to know all the basic energy sectors in your home:
By now you have each sector of your home’s floor plan contained in each quadrant of the grid. As I had previously explained, each sector of your home represents and impacts a different aspect of your life, as the dweller in that home. Also, each sector is ruled by one element of the five elements that are the foundation of Feng Shui. They are Fire, Water, Earth, Wood and Metal.  I am not going to discuss these five elements here as this guide is solely dedicated to help you find the basic energy sectors in your house. However, I want to emphasize that what you are learning here along with the understanding of those five elements is one of the most if not the most important step of all other steps that will follow next, if you want to enjoy the amazing benefits of the natural forces that influence not only your but as well as everyone’s life.
